St Patricks Day: Getting Ready

Whilst we won't be doing a full blown St Patricks Day (or Irish) study I do plan on having a few themed activities out on the shelves. I also have a couple of books on order (as I have absolutely nothing on my shelves on this topic) and will cover some of the basics of the day and of Ireland itself.

I am in the midst of putting together a few printables and will share as each is completed. I have also been looking online for various ideas. The following links are really for me so I don't forget about them but I thought they may come in handy for you too.

  2. Hi Kylie

I can't believe that I had not thought about doing any sort of St Patrick's Day activities. Like you, we probably won't do it as a full blown theme, but it would be fun to do some activities. Last year, I remember seeing contraptions older children had made to catch Leprechauns. Also, I recall seeing lots of rainbows and pot of gold activities. Now if only I could remember where and exactly what I saw.

I love going to Borders as well. The Shape Game sounds like an awesome book. I am going to keep my eye out for a copy of this. Thank you for sharing it.

  3. Elise, I didn't do a thing for Valentines Day so don't worry! I figure it would be a bit silly to study every holiday ever year, so next year we probably won't do St pattys.

  4. I'm looking for the opposite. Something related to Spring (as it slowly comes to our hemisphere), but NOT St. Patrick's Day! LOL Have fun!
