  1. Hi Kylie
What a fantastic idea! You've done a great job on your preperations. I hadn't thought of doing a unit on Anzac day, but I now think it's a wonderful idea ~ the children need to know about it as it is part of their history ( both Dave & I had grandfathers in the WW2).
    Have a wonderful day
    Blessings
    Renata:)

  2. Thanks for sharing this. I have been thinking about how to teach my children about ANZAC day for a while now.
Last year we read a couple of the books you mentioned, and visited our local RSL museum. This year I'd like to go a little deeper, even though they are still very young (5 and 7) but still keep things simple.
So thanks for sharing, we will certainly make good use of it.

  3. I haven't really covered Anzac Day with our kids just yet, partly because both my and my husbands great grandfathers died during the Anzac War. I have to still figure out how to 'explain' what war is, so I've been ignoring the subject.
    Thanks for the printables :)

  7. Thank you once again Kylie for being so generous. This unit is perfect for Miss 6 who is extremely sensitive. I was driving myself crazy trying to find a way to teach her about ANZAC Day that wouldn't overwhelm her and you have achieved it for me.

  9. Thanks, Kylie. This is a perfect introduction to Anzac Day for us. I don't want to do delve to deeply into the subject yet, so this is just right, we can use these and keep it as light as we feel we need to. Still debating whether we will go to a local service or not.

  13. Wow, what a fantastic resource. Explaining ANZAC day in a way that is simple but not too "watered" down for young children is difficult. This seems to do it perfectly. I am looking forward to using this in the classroom. If people are looking for a text to share - a great book for younger children is "ANZAC Biscuits" by Phil Cummings.
